President's Message

WITH GRATITUDE AND THANKS

SandyHurricane Sandy left much of the eastern seaboard without power and forced many to deal with various degrees of destruction. The storm struck New Jersey particularly hard and many experienced complete loss of home and personal belongings. Businesses throughout the state were similarly impacted. In the aftermath of such an event, we regroup... we rebuild.

It is in this spirit that I take a moment to thank those who stepped up to help our own office and operations continue so we could still service our customers immediately following this unprecedented storm. Our office also experienced power outages for days but we remained available to our customers, and immediately following the hurricane we began dispatching technicians. Our technicians, many of whom had homes affected by the storm and who would have preferred to be with their families, were answering service calls and bringing our customers' systems up to full operation. I thank our dedicated technicians, as well as our team of employees who dispatched off-site and others who worked from home or came into a dark and cold office to keep Systems Sales running and able to support our customers during this critical time.

The human toll and destruction would have been more extensive if not for emergency responders including police, fire crews, first aid crews, and our military. These men and women deserve our deepest thanks and appreciation. They faced great personal risk to evacuate, rescue, and protect our communities and neighbors throughout the hurricane. Once Sandy left our area, these teams have continued to help those driven from their homes by the storm.

In the face of adversity, one's true character often comes out. Despite the devastation, Hurricane Sandy has brought out the best in so many, and I am sincerely grateful and honored to have such individuals on our Systems Sales team.

SSC HOSTS 2nd ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE – WINTER 2013

Open House 2013Doors were opened wide during Systems Sales’ 2nd Annual Open House. We pulled together a variety of experts to demonstrate some of the industry-leading technology we offer in fields such as fire detection, nurse call, school sound and security. Our diverse guest list included customers, engineers, property managers, administrators, and more from a wide variety of industries.

The day was relaxed and informal. Guests were free to walk throughout our facility, spending as much time as they felt necessary with the experts in their area of interest. Lunch was provided to all and proved to be a good venue for additional exchange of ideas.

We look forward to hosting our 3rd Annual Open House and welcoming back returning friends and associates as well as those not able to attend this year. Check our website regularly for further details!

SSC 3rd ANNUAL FISHING TRIP - MAHI MAHI ANYONE? - FALL 2012

Fishing TripOur SSC and SDi mates cast off Friday, September 14th on our third annual fishing trip. The conditions couldn’t have been better . . . Clear skies, calm water, beautiful warm sun, and wonderful company! The fish were really biting; we even beat last year’s record! A few of our talented fisherman hooked some interesting fish – mahi-mahi anyone? What a great way for our skilled and dedicated employees to relax after working so hard to make sure our educational customers could open their doors in September knowing their life safety systems were 100% functional.

It was an outstanding day at sea! As the boat docked, we left a little tired, a little sun-burned, and very happy.

BRING YOUR CHILD TO WORK DAY - A NEW GENERATION AT SSC! – 4-26-12

ChildOn April 26th, Systems Sales participated in national Bring Your Child to Work Day. Thirteen of tomorrow’s leaders got to see first-hand where Mom or Dad goes to work each day and learned a little of what they do. After a tour of the office and warehouse, our visitors worked on activities designed to familiarize them with their parents’ workplace and co-workers. Lunch was followed by product demos and a meeting where they shared ideas on what keeps customers happy.

They also attended a “board meeting” chaired by the president of Systems Sales, John Ventrella. The day wound down with our older visitors working on projects in order to gain an understanding of everyday workplace tasks. It was a pleasure to share our workday with such an enthusiastic group. The day was a wonderful highlight to our workweek.
