WITH GRATITUDE AND THANKS
Hurricane Sandy left much of the eastern seaboard without power and forced many to deal with various degrees of destruction. The storm struck New Jersey particularly hard and many experienced complete loss of home and personal belongings. Businesses throughout the state were similarly impacted. In the aftermath of such an event, we regroup... we rebuild.
It is in this spirit that I take a moment to thank those who stepped up to help our own office and operations continue so we could still service our customers immediately following this unprecedented storm. Our office also experienced power outages for days but we remained available to our customers, and immediately following the hurricane we began dispatching technicians. Our technicians, many of whom had homes affected by the storm and who would have preferred to be with their families, were answering service calls and bringing our customers' systems up to full operation. I thank our dedicated technicians, as well as our team of employees who dispatched off-site and others who worked from home or came into a dark and cold office to keep Systems Sales running and able to support our customers during this critical time.
The human toll and destruction would have been more extensive if not for emergency responders including police, fire crews, first aid crews, and our military. These men and women deserve our deepest thanks and appreciation. They faced great personal risk to evacuate, rescue, and protect our communities and neighbors throughout the hurricane. Once Sandy left our area, these teams have continued to help those driven from their homes by the storm.
In the face of adversity, one's true character often comes out. Despite the devastation, Hurricane Sandy has brought out the best in so many, and I am sincerely grateful and honored to have such individuals on our Systems Sales team.

Doors were opened wide during Systems Sales’ 2nd Annual Open House. We pulled together a variety of experts to demonstrate some of the industry-leading technology we offer in fields such as fire detection, nurse call, school sound and security. Our diverse guest list included customers, engineers, property managers, administrators, and more from a wide variety of industries.
The day was relaxed and informal. Guests were free to walk throughout our facility, spending as much time as they felt necessary with the experts in their area of interest. Lunch was provided to all and proved to be a good venue for additional exchange of ideas.
We look forward to hosting our 3rd Annual Open House and welcoming back returning friends and associates as well as those not able to attend this year. Check our website regularly for further details!
The day may have been gray and damp but spirits were high for SSC & SDi this year, as our team captains once again steered our conscientious employees through a successful blood drive. SSC’s Walter Mistyhn, captain of “Out for Blood,” and SDi’s Jason Barton, captain of “Two Pints Please,” had their reputations on the line and came through with outstanding results! A total of 37 people signed up to donate! Thanks to our employees and friends who have always been willing to help and be a part of something so important.
The holiday season officially started with a jolly “Ho! Ho! Ho!” at Systems Sales’ holiday party! While adults enjoyed chatting and catching up with eachother, the DJ kept our younger guests busy with plenty of games and dancing; we have some of the best limbo dancers around! After finishing up a delicious meal, we even received a special visit from Santa, who brought each of the children their own special present. It was a terrific afternoon full of great fun and great company!
Three members of the Systems Sales management team met with Luis Orbegoso, President of UTC’s Global Fire Detection and Alarm Division on September 24, 2012. Mr. Orbegoso was the primary speaker at UTC’s Strategic Voice of the Customer meeting held at the Taj Mahal Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City on September 24th. The meeting included presentations by UTC’s fire alarm engineering, marketing and customer service teams and an open forum for UTC’s Strategic Partners in the Northeast. Systems Sales has had the distinction of being named the Northeast Strategic Partner of the Year three times.

Our SSC and SDi mates cast off Friday, September 14th on our third annual fishing trip. The conditions couldn’t have been better . . . Clear skies, calm water, beautiful warm sun, and wonderful company! The fish were really biting; we even beat last year’s record! A few of our talented fisherman hooked some interesting fish – mahi-mahi anyone? What a great way for our skilled and dedicated employees to relax after working so hard to make sure our educational customers could open their doors in September knowing their life safety systems were 100% functional.
It was an outstanding day at sea! As the boat docked, we left a little tired, a little sun-burned, and very happy.
Systems Sales can now provide cellular alarm monitoring as an alternative to landlines. Cellular technology offers advanced reliability and can significantly reduce monthly communication costs. In addition to new installations, existing installations can either be swapped to cellular or installed as a backup path and upgraded at a future date. Some of the features include full data reporting, automatic self-testing, two programmable supervisory trip outputs, and telephone line monitor built-in with standard line security. Please contact us if you’re interested in learning more about our monitoring services.
CWSI – the nation’s leading manufacturer of fully addressable, commercial wireless fire alarm systems – has announced the addition of the Yagi antenna to their advanced line of devices. This omni-directional antenna is used to provide equal long distance reception and re-transmission of signals to outlying facilities. The Yagi is best suited for unobstructed line-of-sight reception and transmission. It is highly cost-effective and easy to install. Yagi is the answer for stand-alone structures such as pump houses and field houses. No need for expensive and time-consuming excavation; forget the costly installation of cable. Concerns of cable issues due to weather are a thing of the past. For more information click here.
On April 26th, Systems Sales participated in national Bring Your Child to Work Day. Thirteen of tomorrow’s leaders got to see first-hand where Mom or Dad goes to work each day and learned a little of what they do. After a tour of the office and warehouse, our visitors worked on activities designed to familiarize them with their parents’ workplace and co-workers. Lunch was followed by product demos and a meeting where they shared ideas on what keeps customers happy.
They also attended a “board meeting” chaired by the president of Systems Sales, John Ventrella. The day wound down with our older visitors working on projects in order to gain an understanding of everyday workplace tasks. It was a pleasure to share our workday with such an enthusiastic group. The day was a wonderful highlight to our workweek.
