Company History
Systems Sales was started in 1981 by its current president and owner, John Ventrella.
John’s background prior to Systems Sales included service in the U. S. Navy where he specialized in communications and alarm systems. Upon reentry into civilian life John became a field technician for Johnson Controls where he remained for ten years in various service and sales capacities. For the next three years John served as the NY/NJ Area Manager for Simplex Time Recorder Company managing sales and service of six branch offices.
John is a past president of the Automatic Fire Alarm Association of New Jersey (AFAA-NJ) and has served on the Board of Directors for the National AFAA.
Since its inception in 1981 Systems Sales has grown from a one person company into one of the most respected engineered systems distributors in the country. Now, over three decades later, more than 50 customer focused employees work together in a 15,000 square foot office and warehouse.
Among its many awards and distinctions the company has been recognized numerous times by Edwards Systems Technology as the Distributor of the Year.
Key management personnel include John’s daughter Barbara (Heffernan) and his sons Brian and Michael. Barbara serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Brian is the Vice President of Sales. Both joined the company in 1993. Michael started with the company in 2005 and wears multiple hats as the Director of Marketing and IT Manager. All three take great pride in continuing the traditions of family values that the company was founded upon.
